Very Professional"

When was the work done?
January 2006.
What was involved?
Hotfoot installed underfloor heating and poured a screed floor over that.
How did you choose Hotfoot?
They were highly recommended to me by a kitchen manufacturer who had come across their work in another house. It was so successful that there was no need for oil heating. In my own case, the work was so good that there was less than 1mm tolerance in floor level across a large room. They were very accurate and very quick.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Gary Foley and Enda Dooley?
I knew exactly what I wanted - underfloor heating and poured screed which was to be as level as possible.
Did
Gary
introduce new ideas?
There was no need because I knew exactly what I wanted. And they could provide what I wanted.
How did the project run?
Extremely smoothly, like clockwork. They arrived and they did it all in a day. And very professional - it was well planned and well scheduled.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Hotfoot?
The level floor - because without that we could have had all kinds of problems installing the kitchen and tiles.
Would you recommend Hotfoot to others?
I would highly recommend them - and I have done. All in all, I would sum them up as being very professional. They know what they're doing.
Any tips for other people?
To be honest with you, I would use Hotfoot. Because if you are putting in tiles on a floor, there's nothing better then a level floor. And they have a broad range of other products too such as roof heating.

When was the work done?
February 2006.
What was involved?
Hotfoot put down screed over underfloor heating pipes.
How did you choose Hotfoot?
My tiler told me about Hotfoot when we were sourcing a specialised shower tray for a wetroom. When I got them on site to put in the shower tray, Hotfoot told me about the special screeds they do for underfloor heating. Because I was very satisfied with the service I got with regard to the wetroom, I also contracted them for the screed.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Gary Foley and Enda Dooley?
Yes. I knew the requirements of the product I needed but I didn't know what the actual product should be.
Did
Gary
introduce new ideas?
They were able to recommend the product and supply it.
How did the project run?
They arrived when they said they'd arrive. They job was finished exactly as they said it would be finished. Any small queries were dealt with immediately. I was very satisfied with their service.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Hotfoot?
They were efficient and punctual. And they provided what they said they would provide for the price they said they would provide it for.
Would you recommend Hotfoot to others?
I would, yes.
Any tips for other people?
The biggest tip would be to make sure that the contractor comes recommended from somebody, that they have some history - not just to pick somebody at random out of the yellow pages or out of an advert in a magazine.
"Fantastic Alternative"
As told to pickapro by Colette Cummins from Malahide on

When was the work done?
In January 2006.
What was involved?
Hotfoot installed electrical underfloor heating in my hall, kitchen-dining room, sunroom, downstairs toilet, ensuites and in the main bathroom. Then they poured screed in the hall and kitchen-dining room. In the bathrooms, they just used the electrical mats. In the sun-room, they used a new specially engineered wood under the floor because it conducts the heat better.
How did you choose Hotfoot?
I heard about Hotfoot from one of the contractors working on the house.
I wanted underfloor heating because I was putting floor tiles down and didn't want the floor to be cold underfoot. Initially, we had thought about doing the full underfloor gas -powered pipe heating, but the architect said it wasn't feasible. It would involve too much upheaval. The electrical underfloor heating was a fantastic alternative. Having said that, with the price of gas going up, it might just work out as cheap anyway.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Enda
Initially, I thought we'd just do the hall, kitchen and dining areas.
Did Enda introduce new ideas?
They suggested when I was doing it, to do the sun areas and bathroom at the same time.
How did the project run?
Very well. The builder was behind schedule. But I just gave them a few days notice when floors were ready. And they were ready to run. They didn't hold us up at all.
I dealt with Enda all the time and he was very informed about what was being done. Any time, I'd ring he'd come out and look. The service was very good.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Hotfoot?
Right now, I have my radiators turned off. So all I'm using is the off-peak underfloor heating. The floors are hot but it's not oppressive or stuffy like the radiators.
The other thing I'd have to say is that if your floor was any way uneven, the screed they use leaves it completely level and smooth. It leaves a fantastic floor.
Would you recommend Hotfoot to others?
Definitely, they're very good.
What's your favourite part now?
I've been able to reduce the number of radiators in the house which frees up space. Enda told me I wouldn't need any radiators in those areas at all. I really should have listened to him more!
